Country roads..take me home...

Charlotte was lucky enough to get a visit from her Great Aunt Karen and Second Cousin Megan this past weekend. She had a great time visiting them at Grandma and Grandpa's House for the day and then later that night at home!

Charlotte plays with Megan and Gracie.
Thanks so much for coming, it was great to see you!

We leave today for St. Joseph, Michigan - Jason's hometown. It will be Charlotte's first vacation, road trip, and trip to the beach. Hopefully she will also see her first sunset on Lake Michigan, pictured above.

She will of course get to meet her namesake - Great Grandma Charlotte, as well as her Great Grandpa Al! She is very excited to meet these two whom she has heard so much about!

Charlotte will get to spend lots of time with Great Grandma while Mom and Dad hit Silver Beach (pictured above). Charlotte will rest easy knowing that her brother and sister, Wyatt and Gracie, will be home guarding her room with our trusty dog sitter Callie!

Probably no new posts until we return, but you never know!

She's not to blame if they look her way..

It just come's naturally...

Heaven help us, baby's got her blue jeans on....

The dog-gone girl is mine....mine,mine, yep she's mine...

I love it when you have a smile on your face...

All my rowdy friends are comin over tonight...

It's been a hard day's night...

Have your people call my people - another busy week for lil' Miss Charlotte. On Thursday she attended Grandma Rose's retirement lunch and was the star of the show. Only 8 more days to go for Granny Rose! Charlotte also got a visit from Great Aunt Karen and Second Cousin Megan this past weekend (stay tuned for pictures). She is a blast and is having more and more fun each day. Wait till you see her play her new piano!

She's everything I wanna do again....

Charlotte enjoys some tummy time on the new tummy time set that Grandma Brenda bought her.

More tummy time, Charlotte seems to like this. She actually uses her feet to flip herself to the side while in this position.

For the un-initiated, babies, especially our baby, like to be swaddled. Swaddling involves wrapping babies tightly in a blanket-like-contraption that keeps their limbs close to their body so that they can remain peaceful. This reminds them of being in the womb. Robin wondered aloud one night what it felt like to be swaddled. So we grabbed the comforter and gave it a whirl. In a word, it is very hot!
Kind of like a jumbo burrito and a mini-taco!
Dad got in on the action too, note the size differential.
Two little glo-worms!

This past Saturday Charlotte attended her very first food and wine festival. Here she is pictured with good friend Elyse, and Elyse's parents- Josh and Heather. While Mom and Dad enjoyed various whites and reds, Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of 08' Similac - a very fine vintage indeed.

She's got everything delightful...

A plethora of photos for you today, it has been a busy week!

Charlotte, one day away from 5 weeks old. She weighs 9 lb 10 oz and is 20.5 inches tall.

Who needs face washes when you have a big brother like Wyatt?

Uncle Kyle (Jason's best friend from high school and college) and Aunt Leah stop by to visit with Charlotte. Ironically, Kyle and Leah live in Charlotte, NC. They were the first visitors (other than grandparents at the hospital) to cry when they held Charlotte, very touching.

Could they be next in the baby making line?

Jason, Kyle, and Charlotte

Aunt Kristin also stopped in for a night this week, spending some quality time with Charlotte.

The Aagenas kids love hanging out in Charlotte's room!

Once again, the dogs have been awesome, they love licking Charlotte and spending time around her. They also have done pretty well with the stroller on walks.

Sisters Gracie and Charlotte enjoy some play time. Gracie is extra vigilant with Charlotte and has displayed a maternal instinct we didn't think she had. Charlotte loves to look at her, we think its due to her black and white coloring. We are very proud of the fact that our dogs have remained an important part of our family, despite suggestions from some who thought otherwise. There is no reason to forget your pets when you have children.

Finally, Charlotte catches some ZZZ's and looks quite comfortable on Mom's chest.

And you're happy to be with me on the 4th of July...

Charlotte enjoys her first visit with Uncle Joe (Robin's brother) and Aunt Leanda. They came to visit over the holiday weekend and spent alot of time with their new Neice. Joe and Leanda live in Savannah and were able to fly up on Wednesday.

Here is a picture of Charlotte decked out in her Fourth of July outfit. She was proud to be an American.

Another picture with her Aunt and Uncle. It was great to see you guys and we hope to see you again soon!
Charlotte hosted her first BBQ along with Mom and Dad on the Fourth. She was thrilled to meet many members of her extended family along with new friends Sutton and Dylan. We enjoyed having everyone and hope to make the BBQ a yearly tradition.
