Your room awaits...

Here it is, Charlotte's completed nursery! Four months of hard work, countless gifts, a new ceiling, and a less than professional paint job. All that is left is to put her in it! Here is a view from the door, we'll take you around the room starting on the left side.

Changing table, stocked with supplies and accompanied by diaper genie.

Dresser with buckets of toys, stereo, and lamp.

Front window, flanked by Charlotte's giant stuffed giraffe, buckets of toys, and hamper.

Fully furnished crib along with soothing bouncenette.

Corner window with rocking chair and bookcase.

Finished closet with freshly washed newborn clothes, we think she has enough.
There you have it, we would never have finished this room without all the help from friends and family. We were lucky enough to have two awesome showers. Four weeks to go as of yesterday, Doc says Mom and Baby are doing well. Charlotte's head is in the right position, so whenever she is ready we are good to go.

Inspiration...Move Me Brightly

Here she is, the original Charlotte! Jason's Grandmother and the inspiration for baby Charlotte's name. She is pictured here this past weekend in Charlotte's nursery. If you've met Grandma Charlotte you know why it was such an easy decision to name our little girl after this wonderful woman. Jason has of course has had the privelage to be around Grandma C for years, however it didn't take Robin long to realize how terrific she is after having met her 7 years ago. Grandma Charlotte is kind, funny, smart, generous, loving, and talented. We hope that Charlotte can live up to her name and turn into a great lady just like her Great Grandmother. Thanks Grandma for all you have done for our young family - we love you!
Stay tuned for some shower pics and updated nursery photos. Thanks to everyone who came to the shower - we are extremely lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful people. A special thank you to Grandma B, Grandma R, and Aunt Kristin for throwing the best shower ever, you all did a spectacular job!

Closet space...

Tops on the list of most little ladies.. a neat, tidy, and stocked closet. We have received a windfall of vintage baby clothes and Robin did an excellent job organizing Charlotte's closet. If you look closely you will see the the clothes are organized by size and type.

A closer look at one of our favorite organizational compartments - head wear. We can't wait to put Charlotte's little sunglasses on with her matching bathing suit this summer, thanks again Uncle Kyle and Aunt Leah!

Where it all began.... Robin sifts through the generous assortment of clothes we received at Easter. Many thanks to cousins Babette and Lisa for all the baby gear.
Sorry for the delay in posts, we have both been busy trying to get ahead at work in case Charlotte decides to join us early. We have made more improvements to the nursery and will post pictures after the shower this coming weekend. We are both looking forward to the showers and can't wait to see everyone.
We have also completed our first two birthing classes, with two more to go. We are learning all we ever wanted to know about zero station, relaxation techniques, and the stages of labor. Robin is the star student, asking plenty of questions! We got to go on another hospital tour last week that was very informative. The good news is that our over night room at the hospital has wireless internet, so I will be able to post pictures and give you updates after she is born.

A picture is worth....

As promised, here are the brand new pictures from Charlotte and Robin's 3-D ultrasound at 30 weeks! We were lucky enough to be joined by Grandma B, Grandpa M, Grandma R, and Aunt Daphne. Thanks all, it was great to have you there. Charlotte was all hopped up on Diet Dr. Pepper and was pretty mobile during the pictures. That is until the end where she seemed to be tired and let us know by giving us this yawn.

As you can see, Charlotte's fully developed right foot is right on top of her right eye. You can also see her left arm that appears to be holding it there. The cord wrapped around her neck is of course umbilical, and its not actually wrapped around her neck, but comes from one direction behind her head, stretches to her torso where it connects at the belly button. See, Charlotte's BabyBlog is fun yet factual!

Here once again you can see part of her foot next to her head and very big eyes.

Another couple of shots with foot next to head, clear shot of a shut eye and pursed lips. Those big feet look ideal for a soccer player, or for kicking an aggressive boy's ass!!

Look at those lips! If you notice her nose has a round squished appearance right at the tip, thats because it is squished against Robin's belly! The nose and mouth appear to be from Mom, and the deep set eyes and brow from Dad.
We learned that she presently weighs 3.7 lbs, which is BIG for her age. Babies weigh between 3.5-4 lbs at 32 weeks typically. She is 18 inches long, which is also apparently big for her age. Mom is very proud of this superior size and notes that the Vegan diet is serving Charlotte just fine. Based on these sizes, she should weigh about 7.5 lbs and be 20.5 inches at birth. We found 10 fingers, 10 toes, and definitive confirmation that Charlotte is not a Charles. The technician noted that Charlotte's facial features were advanced her age, an overachiever already!
Thank you to everyone for all your support. We also upgraded both the nursery and Charlotte's ride this week, so check back soon for more photos!

29 weeks of baby belly....

Here she is.. Robin at 29 weeks! The belly is growing of course as it should. Things are going well with no complaints. We will try to update the photos for you as the belly grows.

A couple of big thank yous are in order as we have received some wonderful gifts in the past couple of weeks. First, to Aunt Tiff for the exquisite accouterments sent directly from New York City. A couple of cute little hair bows from Bergdorf's, a pink bib, and Charlotte's first outfit by Ralph Lauren. She will look so stylish! Thanks!

Also, from Aunt Karen and Cousin Megan (Jason's aunt and cousin, not Charlotte's, I'm not sure what they are to Charlotte, too confusing.. but I digress...) a beautiful pair of pink Michigan booties and a new book for her growing library. We love them, thanks a lot!

Everyone has been so thoughtful and gracious with their gifts, and as you know - Charlotte loves presents! We are so lucky to have such great friends and family!

Finally, look for new 3D pictures at the end of next week. We have another ultrasound appointment on the 27th. Pictures will be posted soon after. We are excited to see how she has grown.

Charlotte loves baldness....

It was an eventful evening last night, as Jason had his head shaved to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research. So far, it looks like he has $820 - thank you so much to those of you who pledged money. Charlotte is no doubt thankful for such supportive friends and family.

Charlotte has been kicking and enjoyed listening to music for the first time this past Friday. She listened to Bob Marley, George Strait, Jimmy Buffet, Mozart, and the alphabet song in both english and spanish. She reportedly enjoyed the Mozart the most.

For those of you who may not be aware, Grandma Rose speaks fluent Spanish. Since she will be providing day care when we go back to work, we have already decided that she will speak only Spanish to Charlotte at her house during the day- thus making her bilingual. Mom and Dad will have to practice their Spanish as well so that she can't talk back to us! That's all for now, looking forward to the shower.

Hopefully Charlotte will be less hairy!

Charlotte's pet gorilla goes for a ride in our brand new Baby Bjorn! A special thanks to Uncle Joe and Aunt Leanda for sending this gift up from Savannah. The gorilla seems to really like it and we are sure Charlotte will too!
In other news, Robin is feeling well but definitely getting bigger. People realize that she is pregnant now and like to touch the belly. She tested a slimy little guy the other day that clearly had a cold and she thinks that she may have caught it. So we will keep our fingers crossed. Other than that all is good.
If you hadn't heard Jason will be shaving his head on March 15th to raise money for children's cancer research. Please visit www. stbaldricks.org and pledge money for this very worthwhile cause. The goal is to raise $500, so far he is at $45. Simply go to the website and click on the donate link. Search for "jason aagenas" and pledge your support.
